The installation quality of the filter cloth is closely related to daily operation and maintenance. Standard installation is the foundation for reducing operation and maintenance costs and improving the efficiency of the filter cloth. As the core component of the filtration equipment, its installation standards directly affect the filtration efficiency and service life. Mastering the correct installation method can effectively reduce subsequent failures.
Before installation, thorough preparations are necessary. Firstly, verify the compatibility of the filter cloth model with the equipment, ensuring that the size, material, and filter plate or filter cylinder match. Avoid poor sealing due to size deviations. At the same time, carefully inspect the appearance of the filter cloth to confirm that there are no damages, loose wires, broken wires, or obvious wrinkles. If there are damages, replace them immediately to prevent leakage problems after installation. In addition to checking the filter cloth and the equipment, prepare special installation tools (such as rubber hammers, clamping tools, etc.), wear protective gloves to avoid the filter cloth being scratched or contaminated by oil. Moreover, be sure to cut off the power supply of the equipment and hang warning signs to take safety precautions.
During the installation process, distinguishing the front and back sides of the filter cloth is a crucial step. Usually, the side marked as "working surface" is the filtration surface and should face the direction of material contact; if there is no clear marking, it can be determined by comparing with the old filter cloth or referring to the equipment instructions. Generally, the denser and smoother side is the working surface. During installation, the movement should be gentle to avoid the filter cloth contacting the sharp parts of the equipment, which could cause scratches and damage. Place the filter cloth smoothly over the filter plate or filter cylinder, ensuring no distortion or folding. When fixing the filter cloth, the tension should be moderate: too tight can cause the filter cloth to stretch and the seams to crack, while too loose will result in deviation and wrinkles, affecting the filtration effect. The fixing force should be uniform, ensuring a tight fit while not applying excessive force that could tear the filter cloth.
After the installation is completed, do not rush to start production immediately. First, position each filter plate correctly and conduct a comprehensive inspection to check if the interfaces are sealed, the edges are smooth, and the surface of the filter cloth is flat without wrinkles. Then, start the equipment for a short period of no-load trial operation. It is recommended to run for five to ten minutes to observe whether the running trajectory of the filter cloth is smooth, and whether there is deviation, material leakage or abnormal friction sounds. If any problems are found, stop the machine for adjustment, recheck the tightness and fixed position, until the operation is normal.
After the daily installation, records should also be made, including the installation date, equipment number, filter cloth model, operators, and test run results, etc. This is to facilitate subsequent maintenance and traceability, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the filtration equipment.
